Parade of Gardens

What is the Parade of Gardens?
Karl Foerster grass and flower corner
Gone are the days of the sprawling lawn and white picket fence. Blooming hyssops, bristlecone pines and rocked patios are some of the elements of the desired Castle Rock landscapes.

The Parade of Gardens will take you through some of the most beautiful, eclectic and water-wise, private gardens in our community. These homeowners have designed their landscapes to incorporate colorful and vibrant plant and hardscape material with seasonal interest and low-water use maintenance. These ColoradoScapes have reduced lawn areas and are now filled with large trees, stunning perennials, striking shrubs and exciting hardscapes.

The Parade of Gardens allows you to become inspired by these incredible outdoor areas to create a colorful, low-water ColoradoScapes in your yard!

Parade of Gardens canceled for 2020

But we are planning for 2021!

Do you have that garden? Does everyone remark about how incredible your yard is? We'd love to see it too!

The only prerequisite is that it needs to incorporate the elements of ColoradoScape design. Contact us to start planning.

How do I parade?

The Parade of Gardens is basically an open house for residents to view private landscapes. Only the yard is open to the public to walk-through. A guide will be on-hand to provide a tour and answer questions.

Visitors can sign up to ride in a van and be escorted to each location, or participants can travel on their own, using their own vehicle to get to each property. The benefit of touring in the van is ease and parking. Each van trip is 2 to 2 1/2 hours and will visit three homes, but visitors can see all six highlighted homes by registering for a morning and afternoon tour. Tours leave at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The event is free, but registration is required. Registration for those touring on their own is also encouraged to help plan for crowd control and parking.

Some things to consider:

  1. Please be respectful of the gardens, homes, and neighborhoods; these homes are owned by private individuals.
  2. When parking, please do not pull into or block driveways.
  3. Water is provided, but there will be no concessions at the homes.
  4. The interior of homes will not be open, so there is no access to restrooms.
  5. Photos are encouraged.
  6. Tour guides are available at each garden.
  7. Wear comfortable shoes, as you’ll be doing a lot of walking and surfaces may be uneven.
  8. This event is not wheelchair accessible; however, many of the landscapes are in the front yard and view-able from the street.
  9. Though outside, pets, other than service animals, are not allowed.
  10. Carpooling is a good idea, as parking may be limited.
  11. Hats and sunscreen are recommended.
  12. Please no smoking.
