Water Use Products inside of Your Home

In the Bathroom

Check your local retailer for water conserving products.

Toilet – Look for dual flush, low volume (1.6 gallons/flush), or ultra-low volume (1.28 gallons/flush) toilets.

Showerheads – Look for a rating of 2 gallons/minute or less.

Faucet – Use aerators whenever possible.

In the Utility Room

A high efficiency washing machine is recommended with a water factor of 6 or less. A comprehensive list of washing machines can be found at www.energystar.gov.

Water-conserving machines save you money over time by using only 18 to 25 gallons of water per load, which can save 6,000 or more gallons of water per year.
