SMARTSCAPE RENOVATION REBATE APPLICATION

  1. SMARTSCAPE RENOVATION REBATE

    The SmartScape Renovation Program encourages residential water customers to convert thirsty plant materials into water wise landscapes.

  2. Program information

    In order to be eligible, participants must first complete a Water Wiser workshop. The renovation is for removal of healthy turf with a minimum area of 250 square feet and a maximum rebate of $1,500. All renovations must be completed in the current program year. To be eligible, areas must contain at least 50 percent healthy irrigated turf; however, a percentage of landscaped area will be deducted for dead, declining, or unhealthy turf areas. Applications submitted after landscape work has begun and without an initial site inspection will not be approved. An initial site inspection will be scheduled with you by the Program Administrator. Sprinklers must be removed or redesigned to appropriately water the renovated area. The renovated area must be watered separately from turf grass. All expenses are out-of-pocket to the applicant. Applications are processed in the order received and rebates are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Funding is limited. Only one rebate per account.

  3. Completed project requirements

    Mulched area should be covered with 4-inches of wood mulch or 2-inches of rock mulch. Edging, if used, must be securely buried in the soil and/or mulch. Metal edging must be capped or rolled. Project and surrounding area is weed-free and sidewalks cleared of debris. Any landscape fabric should not be showing. Failure to comply with any requirements of this program may result in denial of rebate. Project must be complete with final inspection by September 30 of the program year.

  4. Water budget

    SmartScape renovations will result in changes to the irrigated area used to calculate the monthly water budget for this property. A water budget adjustment application must be submitted prior to project completion. The adjustment form will be provided by the Program Administrator.

  5. Please attach a copy of your photo identification for the Affidavit of lawful presence you will be asked to sign during the application process.

  6. Photo Release

    I hereby grant the Town of Castle Rock the right and license to use my image, likeness and comments in Castle Rock materials for internal and external audiences. These materials include, but are not limited to, advertisement, brochures, news release, magazines, newspapers, newsletters, videos and websites.

    Submission of the online application is not considered complete until the AFFIDAVIT OF LAWFUL PRESENCE is signed and returned by the applicant. Once you hit "submit" you will receive a confirmation and affidavit. Please print the affidavit and return to the Program Administrator. Your rebate can not be processed without this signed affidavit. Complete, rebate applications will be processed in the order of receipt. Rebate checks are generally issued within three to six weeks of completion of the application and final inspection.
